Met Office Weather Workshops 2025
19.03.25for Mountain Training Association members
We are very happy to present our seventh year of collaboration work with the Met Office delivering specialist weather workshops to members around the UK.
These sessions have been carefully designed to support the syllabi of Mountain Training's qualifications as well as to enhance the knowledge of leaders and instructors. They focus on the practical application of information gained from weather forecasts during the planning stage and dynamically whilst out in the hills, moors and mountains.
The Met Office are keen to engage with our community of members to reach walkers and climbers of mountains, hills, moors and lowland. Having our members pass on information to help the public understand how to use forecast information which enables them to make informed decisions whilst enjoying their time in the great outdoors.
The workshops are being delivered by a team of experts from the Met Office, led by Dr. Mike Reading, Senior Operational Meteorologist from the Met Office in Aberdeen.
"An excellent course, well delivered and very thought provoking. I'd recommend it to anyone who enters the mountains.."
Nigel Vardy April 2024
"Both trainers were very knowledgeable and presented the whole day really well. I have already recommended the day to other ML/HML trainees. Thanks for a fabulous workshop"
