Mountain Training England seeks to commission research on leadership trends

Mountain Training England is seeking a contractor to conduct research on the current trends in qualified leadership in the adventure activity sector in England.

The last decade has seen enormous changes in the adventure activity sector with cost-of-living challenges, the effect of the Covid pandemic, social media influence, demographic changes and the decline of the outdoor education sector. Despite all this, participation rates in climbing and hill walking have grown enormously. However, the number of qualified leaders in these activities has not increased at the same rate and MTE wants to understand why this is and what it can do to improve this.
