Lowland Leader Peer to Peer Development Day September 2026
29.09.26On Saturday, 26th September 2026, Katy Draper one of our Assistant Regional Coordinators for England, East Midlands, ran a Lowland Leader peer to peer development day.
The day was designed to be just right for those about to do their assessment or considering training. It was a packed day of peer learning and an excellent opportunity for members to explore the Lowland Leader syllabus and practice many of the skills required to successfully achieve the standard required.
About the day Katy says:
" We walked up to the bottom of Stanage Edge and then back along the river to Hathersage. Took in the Bronte cottage and North Lees. A lovely group who just got stuck in and had a lot of fun. All at different stages - one person just about to do assessment and some of them just starting their journey. Covered a lot of the syllabus / scope for the award in very much a reflective and self learning development style. Covered loads around leadership and group management techniques. Loads of fun and laughter ".
Mountain Training Association member and workshop attendee Can Truong says:
"I felt the groups dynamic was great, I got my confidence back and felt much better about my skills level. The group shared experiences and knowledge of what was important in leadership skills and motivation to a group. Really recommend this before an assessment so it gives you confidence and refreshes your knowledge".
Another brilliant free CPD workshop ran by our regional volunteers!
