2020 bookings now open!
The Mountain Training Association are thrilled to announce the launch of the 2020 programme of
Met Office weather workshops!
Now in our third year, this collaboration is going strong and we're continuing to grow the number of educational opportunities available to our members across the UK.
These sessions have been carefully designed to support the syllabi of Mountain Training's qualifications as well as to enhance the knowledge of qualified leaders and instructors. They are all about practically applying information gained from weather forecasts during the planning stage and dynamically whilst out in the hills and mountains.
The Met Office are eager to engage with the mountain user community, passing on information to help the public understand how to use the forecast information provided; enabling them to make informed decisions whilst enjoying their time in the great outdoors.
The workshops are being delivered by a team of experts from the Met Office and include Dr. Mike Reading, Senior Operational Meteorologist from the Met Office in Aberdeen, Tom Morgan - Operational Meteorologist based in Exeter, and Aviation Training Manager from the Met Office College, Colin McAllister who is a learning consultant at the Met Office.
Regional volunteers have kindly volunteered their time to attend each event to meet and greet members and answer any questions you may have about future events in your region.

"Just a quick note to say, what a fantastic training day yesterday with the Met Office!! Learnt so much! Extremely knowledgeable speakers. Well done to everyone that helped organise it. We should book these two speakers on a regular basis. Fantastic!" - Matt Burgin, 2018
