Leading the way in the lowlands
We're bringing CPD opportunities to the South East and we've kick started the autumn with a fantastic lowland navigation refresher and many more workshops in pipeline.
Hosted by
Steven Pease of
Vertical Relief - an experienced provider of both the Lowland Leader award and the Climbing Wall Leading award courses, this workshop was a great navigation refresher for Lowland Leader award holders and for trainees preparing for assessment or generally anyone who frequently finds themselves operating/working in lowland terrain. It was also a great opportunity to practice night and poor visibility nav skills in a relaxed setting.
Steve's workshop received great reviews and there will be plenty more running next year:
"
The Lowland Nav Course in The Chilterns was everything that I expected, and consolidated skills which I learnt on a recent Mountain Leader training course I attended at Plas y Brenin. The course focused on skills needed in the lowland and hill/moorland environment which aren't necessarily the same as those needed in the mountains. We did plenty of micro navigation and Steve gave expert advice for walking on bearings and pacing distances. I also learnt a new technique - aspect of slope - which was very useful when put into practice on the hill.
Steve’s approach was relaxed but very informative - I would definitely recommend it to anyone operating or walking in the lowland environment."-
