Women in Mountain Training
The Boardroom, Rectors Lane Industrial Estate, Rectors Ln, Pentre, Deeside CH5 2DH
Monday 27 March – 6.45-9pm
During 2017 we will be working to develop a strategic plan for our work in Women in Mountain Training. Our initial aims are to increase registrations onto our award schemes by females and to address the gender gap in those people delivering and course directing our qualifications.
We are very excited to be involved right at the beginning of this long term body of work on promoting climbing and walking activities and our qualifications to women and girls. We are starting this process by investigating ways of encouraging participation at entry level and we have been working with staff at the Boardroom
on an evening event to promote both their Women’s Coaching evenings and Mountain Training.
This event will be an opportunity for everyone (male or female) to get involved with climbing and to find out about Mountain Training’s qualifications in both walking and climbing. The social Women’s Coaching group meets every Monday evening at the Boardroom 7.30-9pm. The coaching is free for women who want to start climbing or improve their climbing and Boardroom staff members will be on hand to provide help, advice and skills.
On Monday 27 March
staff from Mountain Training will be around to talk about skills training, qualifications and where we fit into the career/lifestyle map. We will be answering questions, finding out what people want and need and offering help on using our candidate management system and our online digital logbook.
The Women’s Coaching is specifically aimed at women. The Mountain Training part of the evening is open to anyone.
Mountain Training Cymru have kindly offered to cover the cost of wall entry for people attending the talk. Please contact The Boardroom directly to reserve your place as there are a limited number of places available.
