Rock Skills and Indoor Climbing Assistant go live!

Today (7th January), Mountain Training has launched two brand new schemes: Rock Skills and Indoor Climbing Assistant.

Both schemes are designed to enable a more diverse range of people to get involved with climbing and its delivery and we’re excited that people can now register for either or both schemes.

Rock Skills

Top roping a climb

This is a series of four courses to develop your personal rock climbing skills. You can attend the most appropriate course for you, depending on your existing experience and the scheme caters for complete beginners through to indoor lead climbers and outdoor seconds.

Rock Skills Intermediate – minimum age 13
Rock Skills Learn to Lead Sport Climbs – minimum age 14
Rock Skills Learn to Lead Trad Climbs – minimum age 14

Indoor Climbing Assistant

Teaching tying in

This qualification is designed to train and assess people to actively support a qualified instructor to deliver a climbing session. It is ideal for anyone who wants to be involved in facilitating a great climbing session whilst under the direct supervision of an instructor. It could be an ideal opportunity for young people leaving the NICAS scheme, teachers, parents, youth workers and carers.

Minimum age: 16.

Registration: £20.
