1/How do I register on an award?

Log in to your account on the Candidate Management System, select the Register tab, select your chosen registration from the drop down list and follow the payment links. Please note you will need to have membership with a Mountaineering Council before you can register. Please see this page for more information Mountaineering Councils.

2/I registered many years ago. Is my registration still valid?

It is, registrations last a lifetime. You will now also have access to your Digital Logbook (DLOG) through your account on our Candidate Management System. Log in to your account to begin adding your experience to your DLOG, please see question 2 for information on how to gain access to your account. If you still have your paper logbook you can scan the pages that you have filled in and attach them as documents to the Files section of your DLOG, rather than having to input each entry individually.

3/I am trying to log in. I might already be registered on one of your awards but I don’t know for sure. What should I do?

If you have, or have ever had, a Mountain Training logbook then you are already registered on one of our schemes. Click on the CMS link above, then Sign Up, then Get access to your account for Existing Candidates, and enter the data required to log in. Use the information in your logbook and reproduce exactly your name etc. MTID means your candidate number, usually found on your endorsement page. If you no longer have your logbook please give us a call in the office for help with this on 01690 720 272.

Once logged in click on the Register tab at the top of the screen. Your postal address will need to be up to date before you can register on a scheme and you will need to be a member of a Mountaineering Council, enter a membership number on the Membership Tab if you are already a member. Select your chosen registration, accept the Terms and Conditions and then follow the payment links.

4/I am trying to log in. I know that I am not already registered on an award with Mountain Training. What should I do?

Click on the CMS link above, then New Candidates. Enter your details and choose a user name and password. Your password has to be a minimum of 7 characters long, and include both upper and lower case letters, a number and a special character such as an !. You will be sent an email to your supplied email address in order to verify your account. Click on the link within the email, enter your username and password and you will then be logged in to your account.

Once logged in click on the Register tab at the top of the screen.
